Is Meade Hall available to hire for private functions?
Yes it is! We can cater for many different events including weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, corporate events, presentation evenings……
Meade Hall has its own fully stocked bar, separate washrooms, ample floor space, private entrance, picturesque patio, open fire, PA system with iPod dock, fully air-conditioned and heated.
Can I have an extended Licence for my function?
Yes, until 12 midnight for an extra charge of £300.
Do you host weddings?
We absolutely do, yes! We love a good wedding! Meade Hall makes a perfect venue in all seasons.
How do I arrange a meeting to view Meade Hall and discuss my event further?
Complete the event form with all your details, email us on firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01252 545253 and speak to a member of the Event Planning Team.
How much does it cost to hire?
Hire charges are anywhere up to £800 depending on our rates for peak / off peak and day of the week.
What is included in the hire charge?
Included in the hire charge is the full use of Meade Hall and patio outside, furniture, crockery, glassware, candles, PA system, T.V, along with a dedicated Event Manager.
How many people can it seat for a meal?
Comfortably up to 100, depending on table arrangements. Maximum 120.
How many people can it hold for a buffet?
For more casual dining, such as buffets and BBQ’s, Meade Hall can cater for up to 120. By using outside spaces we can cater for up to 200. (please note large bookings will need the requirement of door staff)

What is the price range of your menus?
Wedding menus start at £32.95 per person and we have a wide range of other function menus. For full details, please see our menu section.
Is there a minimum spend?
A minimum spend applies, please enquire for further details.
Can we provide our own food?
Food must be provided by the Crown & Cushion, with the exception of celebration cakes.
Do you cater for special dietary requirements and allergies?

Can we provide our own wine?
We have a wonderful wine selection! But if we don’t offer what you would like, you can provide your own wine but a corkage must be paid. Our corkage rates are £10 per bottle for wine, £15 per bottle for sparkling wine and champagne and £20 per Magnum.
Can we provide our own DJ or band?
We have an experienced and popular DJ that we can recommend. If you wish to provide your own DJ or band then we would require proof of their Public Liability Insurance and PAT Certificates as well as a visit prior to your event.
Do you have a Licence for Live Music?
Yes we do!
What time does the bar close?
The bar is licensed until 11pm but an extension may be possible for an additional charge of £300
What sort of decoration do you allow?
We love decorations! The more the merrier to tie in with your theme, however, they must comply with our Health and Safety Policy, eg. only as high as the first rafters.
Is the cricket pitch adjacent to Meade Hall available to hire?
Our patio area overlooking the cricket pitch is available but unfortunately the cricket pitch is managed by The Crown Taveners Cricket Club.
What deposit do you require?
To secure a booking, the room hire fee must be paid in advance. Please note that all quotes are valid for 14days, after which if no deposit is paid, the venue will be made available for other bookings.
In the case of a cancellation, the room hire fee is non-refundable.
How far In advance do you take bookings?
The earlier the better to secure this popular venue!
If I have to cancel, what happens to my room hire payment?
Unfortunately, room hire payments are non-refundable.
Is there parking available?
There is parking for cars, with an option of overflow parking for larger events.
Do you have Accessible Facilities?
Yes, there are Accessible Facilities available in the main pub.
